Engineimmobilisationisdesignedtosafeguardthevehicle
fromtheft.Engineimmobilisationcanonlybedeactivated
tostartthecarbyusingthematchedkey.

Whenthematchedkeyisinsertedintotheignition
switchandthecarisstarted,engineimmobilisationis
deactivatedautomatically.Whenthekeyisremovedfrom
theignitionswitch,thevehiclewillautomaticallyenable
engineimmobiliser.Whentheignitionswitchisinposition
ON,ifengineimmobilisercannotidentifythekeyinserted
intotheignitionswitch,theengineimmobiliserwarning
lampontheinstrumentpackilluminates,andthemessage
centredisplayofsomemodelswillshow"InvalidKey".If
thevehiclecanstillnotbestartedbyusingthesparekey,
seekanMGAuthorisedRepairer.

validkeyisdetectedinthevehicle,engineimmobiliserwill
bedeactivatedautomatically.
Ifthemessagecentredisplayshows"SmartKeyNot
Detected"or"PutKeyIntoBackupPosition",pleaseput
theremotekeyatthebottomofthecentreconsolecup
holder(referto"StandbyStartingProcedure"in"Engine
Start(KeylessStart)"section),ortrytousethesparekey.
