Whenparkingthevehicle,pleaseensurethe
vehicleisparkedsafelyandthatalltrafc
by-lawsareobserved.

OverheatingProtection
Startingofffrequentlyathighambienttemperatures
ortransmissionoverloadmaycausehightransmission
temperatures.Inordertopreventdamage,thesystem
willperformanoverheatingprotectionroutine,the
messagecentrewilldisplaytherelevanticonandmessages
accompaniedbyanaudiblealarm.Dependingonthe
severityoftheoverheating,thewarningmessagesmay
requestthedriverto"IncreaseSpeedorStopSafely",or
"StopSafely".
Withthetransmissionoverheating,thewarningmessage
showing"StopSafely"andtheengineemissionmalfunction
indicatorlampon,pleaseparksafelyandshiftthelever
toPtoallowthetransmissiontocool,theinstrument
packmessagecentrewilldisplay"PleaseWait".Only
whenthetransmissiontemperaturehasdecreasedandthe
instrumentpackmessagecentredisplays"ReadyforDrive
Away"canthevehiclestartoff.
Ifthedriveradherestotheinstructionsdisplayedinthe
messagecentrefor20minutesandthewarningshavenot
alteredordisappeared,seekanMGAuthorisedRepairer
immediately,otherwiseseveredamagetothetransmission
mayoccur .
LimpMode
Whensomefailuresoccur ,thetransmissionwillenterLimp
Modeandwillonlyfunctioninsomegears,insomecases
itmayfailtoreverse,duringthistimethemessagecentre
willdisplaytheengineemissionmalfunctionindicatorlamp.
SeekanMGAuthorisedRepairerimmediately.
Note:InLimpMode,theTiptronicfunctionis
disabled.
SevereFunctionalMalfunction
Sometransmissionmalfunctionswillcausetheengine
emissionmalfunctionwarninglamptoilluminate.T o
protectthetransmission,thesystemmaycutoffengine
