Thefreestrokeofbrakepedalisintherangeof10~30mm.
Foraddedsafety,thehydraulicbrakingsystemoperates
throughdualcircuits.Ifonecircuitshouldfail,theother
willcontinuetofunction,butgreaterpedalpressurewill
beneeded,andincreasedbrakepedaltravel,andlonger
stoppingdistanceswillbeexperienced.Intheeventofa
brakefailurewhereonlyonecircuitisoperational,thecar
shouldbebroughttoahaltassoonastrafcconditions
safelyallow.DONOTcontinuedriving-seekanMG
AuthorisedRepairer .
ServoAssistance
Thebrakingsystemisservoassisted,alwaysbeawareof
thefollowingsduringtheoperation:
•Theservoassistancefunctionswiththeenginestarted
uponly.Neverallowthecartofreewheelwiththe
engineturnedoff.
•Iftheengineshouldstopforanyreasonwhiledriving,
bringthecartoahaltasquicklyastrafcconditions
safelyallow,anddonotpumpthebrakepedalasthe
brakingsystemwillloseanyremainingservoassistance.
Oncetheenginehasstopped,itwillloseanyremaining
servoassistance,usesuitableforcetoapplythebrake
pedaltostopthecarsafelyinthecurrenttrafc
conditions.ContactanMGAuthorisedRepairer.
•Efciencyofthebrakeservoboostercanbeaffectedby
enginestallorotherconditions,suchasthechangeof
barometricpressure.Theseconditionscouldresultin
extraforcerequiredtooperatethebrakepedaltostop
thecar .
WetConditions
Drivingthroughwaterorheavyrainmayadverselyaffect
brakingefciency.Inthiscase,keepasafedistancefrom
othervehiclesandintermittentlyapplythebrakepedalto
keepthebrakediscsurfacedry.
ElectronicBrakeForceDistribution(EBD)
Y ourcarisequippedwithEBD,which,inordertomaintain
brakingefciency,distributesbrakingforcesbetweenfront
andrearwheels,underallloadconditions.
EBDintegratesamonitoringsystem.Themonitoring
systemislinkedtothebrakesystemmalfunctionindicator
