Whenparkingthevehicle,pleaseensurethe
vehicleisparkedsafelyandthatalltrafc
by-lawsareobserved.
OverheatingProtection
Startingofffrequentlyathighambienttemperaturesmay
causehightransmissiontemperatures.Inordertoprevent
damage,thesystemwillperformanoverheatingprotection
routine,themessagecentrewilldisplaytherelevanticon
andmessagesaccompaniedbyanaudiblealarm.Depending
ontheseverityoftheoverheating,thewarningmessages
mayrequestthedriverto"IncreaseSpeedorStopSafely",
or"StopSafely"(ifcircumstancesallow).
Withthetransmissionoverheating,thewarningmessage
showing"StopSafely"andtheengineemissionmalfunction
indicatorlampon,pleaseparksafelyandshiftthelever
toPtoallowthetransmissiontocool,theinstrument
packinformationcentrewilldisplay"PleaseWait",during
thistimetheenginecanbeswitchedoff,vehicleexited
andlocked.Onlywhenthetransmissiontemperaturehas
decreasedandtheinstrumentpackinformationcentre
displays"ReadyforDriveAway"canthevehiclestartoff.
Ifthedriveradherestotheinstructionsdisplayedinthe
messagecentrefor20minutesandthewarningshavenot
alteredordisappeared,seekanMGAuthorisedRepairer
immediately.
LimpMode
WhensomefailuresoccurthetransmissionwillenterLimp
Modeandwillonlyfunctioninsomegears,insomecasesit
mayfailtoreverse,duringthistimetheinformationcentre
willdisplaytheengineemissionmalfunctionindicatorlamp.
SeekanMGAuthorisedRepairerimmediately.
Note:InLimpMode,theTiptronicfunctionis
disabled.
SevereFunctionalMalfunction
Sometransmissionmalfunctionswillcausetheengine
emissionmalfunctionwarninglamptoilluminate.T o
protectthetransmission,thesystemmaycutoffengine
