•Intheeventofaatbatteryorpowerfailureitis
notpossibletoapplyorreleasetheEPB.Ifusing
'jumpleads'totemporarilysupplypowerpleasesee
'EmergencyStarting'intheEmergencyInformation.
•Intheeventofapowerinterruptionoratbattery,
theEPBwillnotoperateandthewarninglampwill
illuminate.T orestorenormaloperation,pressbrake
pedal,pressEPBswitchandthenpullEPBswitch,
(thismayhavetoberepeated)thewarninglampwill
extinguishandnormaloperationwillresume.
ReleasingtheEPB
•PlacetheignitionswitchinpositionII,pressthebrake
pedal,andpresstheEPBswitch.
•IftheindicatorintheEPBswitchandtheindicator
intheinstrumentpackareextinguished,theEPBis
released.
StartAssist
TheEPBcanpredictthedriver'sintentionand
automaticallyreleasetheEPB.
Ifthedriver'sseatbeltisfastened,clutchpedalfully
pressed,forwardorreversegearselectedandtheclutch
pedalliftedwhilstpressingtheaccelerator ,theEPBwill
automaticallyrelease.
EmergencyBrakingFunction
Inappropriateuseoftheelectricparkbrake
canleadtoaccidentsandinjuries.Donot
applytheelectricparkbrakeforvehicle
braking,unlessinemergency.
DuringemergencybrakingusingtheEPB,DO
NOTinsertorremovetheignitionkey,this
couldresultinseriousinjury.
Intheeventofnormalbrakefailure,emergencybraking
usingtheEPBcanbeinitiatedbypullingandholdingthe
EPBswitchupward.
•IftheSCScanrespondactivelytotherequestform
theEPB,atspeedsinexcessofapredeterminedlimit
theSCSwillactivateandapplyall4brakes.Atspeeds
belowthepredeterminedlimittheEPBwillonlyactivate
therearbrakes.IftheSCSisunabletorespondtothe
