Thepurposeoftheparkingaidistoassistthe
driverduringreversing!Thesensorsmaynot
beabletodetectcertaintypesofobstruction,
e.g.narrowpostsorsmallobjectsnomore
thanafewincheswide,smallobjectscloseto
theground,objectsabovethetailgateand
someobjectswithnonreectivesurfaces.
Keepthesensorsfreefromdirt,iceandsnow.
Ifdepositsbuilduponthesurfaceofthe
sensors,theirperformancemaybeimpaired.
Whenwashingthecar,avoidaiminghigh
pressurewaterjetsdirectlyatthesensors
fromcloserange.
RearParkingAid
Fourultrasonicsensors,situatedintherearbumper ,scan
theareabehindthecarsearchingforobstructions.Ifan
obstructionisdetected,thesystemcalculatesitsdistance
fromtherearofthecarandcommunicatesthisinformation
tothedriverbysoundwarningchimes.
ParkingAidOperation
WhentheignitionswitchisinpositionII,therearparking
aidisenabledautomaticallywhenreversegearisselected,
itisswitchedoffassoonasreversegearisdisengaged.
Ashortbeepisgivenbytheparkingaidwithin1second
afterselectingreversegeartoindicatethatthesystemis
operatingnormally.
Note:Ifalonger,higherpitchedsoundisemittedfor
3secondswhenreversegearisselectedthisindicates
afaultinthesystem.Inthiscaseseekassistancefrom
yourMGAuthorisedRepairer.
