SafetyintheGarage
Coolingfansmaycommenceoperatingafter
theengineisswitchedoff,andcontinue
operatingforanumberofminutes.Keep
clearofallfanswhileworkingintheengine
compartment.
Ifyouneedtocarryoutmaintenance,observethe
followingsafetyprecautionsatalltimes:
Keepyourhandsandclothingawayfromdrivebeltsand
pulleys.
Ifthecarhasbeendrivenrecently,DONOTTOUCH
exhaustandcoolingsystemcomponentsuntiltheengine
hascooled.
DONOTTOUCHelectricalleadsorcomponents
whiletheengineisrunning,orwiththeignitionswitch
on.
NEVERleavetheenginerunninginanunventilatedarea
-exhaustgasesarepoisonousandextremelydangerous.
DONOTworkunderneaththecarwithawheel
changingjackastheonlymeansofsupport.
Ensurethatsparksandnakedlightsarefarawayfrom
theenginecompartment.
Wearprotectiveclothing,including,wherepracticable,
glovesmadefromanimperviousmaterial.
Removewatchesandjewelrybeforeworkinginthe
enginecompartment.
DONOTallowtoolsormetalpartsofthecartomake
contactwiththebatteryleadsorterminals.
T oxicLiquid
Fluidsusedinmotorvehiclesarepoisonousandshouldnot
beconsumedorbroughtintocontactwithopenwounds.
Theseinclude:batteryacid,coolant,brakeuid,power
steeringuid,fuel,engineoilandwindscreenwasher
additives.
Foryourownsafety,ALWA YSreadandobeyall
instructionsprintedonlabelsandcontainers.
UsedEngineOil
Prolongedcontactwithengineoilmaycauseseriousskin
disorders,includingdermatitisandcanceroftheskin.
Washthoroughlyaftercontact.Usedengineoilshould
