Warning:Donotworkonorunderavehiclesupported
onlybyajack.Alwayssupportthevehicleonsafety
stands.
Donotleavetools,liftingequipment,spiltoil,etc.aroundor
ontheworkbencharea.Alwayskeepacleanandtidywork
area.
BrakeShoesandPads
Alwaystthecorrectgradeandspecicationofbrakelinings.
Whenrenewingbrakepadsandbrakeshoes,alwaysreplaceas
completeaxlesets.
BrakeHydraulics
Observethefollowingrecommendationswhenworkingonthe
brakesystem:
•Ensurethathosesruninanaturalcurveandarenot
kinkedortwisted.
•Ensurethathosesruninanaturalcurveandarenot
kinkedortwisted.
•Fitbrakepipessecurelyintheirretainingclipsandensure
thatthepipecannotcontactapotentialchangpoint.
•Containersusedforbrakeuidmustbekeptabsolutely
clean.
•Donotstorebrakeuidinanunsealedcontainer,itwill
absorbwaterandinthisconditionwouldbedangerous
touseduetoaloweringofitsboilingpoint.
•Donotallowbrakeuidtobecontaminatedwithmineral
oil,orputnewbrakeuidinacontainerwhichhas
previouslycontainedmineraloil.
•Donotre-usebrakeuidremovedfromthesystem.
•Alwaysusecleanbrakeuidorarecommended
alternativetocleanhydrauliccomponents.
•Afterdisconnectionofbrakepipesandhoses,
immediatelytsuitableblankingcapsorplugstoprevent
theingressofdirt.
•Onlyusethecorrectbrakettingswithcompatible
threads.
•Observeabsolutecleanlinesswhenworkingwith
hydrauliccomponents.
CoolingSystemCapsandPlugs
expansiontankcapsandcoolantdrainorbleedscrewswhen
theengineishot,especiallyifitisoverheated.T oavoid
thepossibilityofscalding,allowtheenginetocoolbefore
attemptingremoval.
