Alwaysusetherecommendedjackingpoints.
Alwaysensurethatanyliftingapparatushassufcientload
capacityfortheweighttobelifted.
Ensurethevehicleisstandingonlevelgroundpriortolifting
orjacking.
Applytheparkingbrakeandchockthewheels.
Warning:Donotworkonorunderavehiclesupported
onlybyajack.Alwayssupportthevehicleonsafety
stands.
Donotleavetools,liftingequipment,spiltoil,etc.aroundor
ontheworkbencharea.Alwayskeepacleanandtidywork
area.
BrakeShoesandPads
Alwaystthecorrectgradeandspecicationofbrakelinings.
Whenrenewingbrakepadsandbrakeshoes,alwaysreplaceas
completeaxlesets.
BrakeHydraulics
Observethefollowingrecommendationswhenworkingonthe
brakesystem:
Ensurethathosesruninanaturalcurveandarenot
kinkedortwisted.
Ensurethathosesruninanaturalcurveandarenot
kinkedortwisted.
Fitbrakepipessecurelyintheirretainingclipsandensure
thatthepipecannotcontactapotentialchangpoint.
Containersusedforbrakeuidmustbekeptabsolutely
clean.
Donotstorebrakeuidinanunsealedcontainer,itwill
absorbwaterandinthisconditionwouldbedangerous
touseduetoaloweringofitsboilingpoint.
Donotallowbrakeuidtobecontaminatedwithmineral
oil,orputnewbrakeuidinacontainerwhichhas
previouslycontainedmineraloil.
Donotre-usebrakeuidremovedfromthesystem.
Alwaysusecleanbrakeuidorarecommended
alternativetocleanhydrauliccomponents.
Afterdisconnectionofbrakepipesandhoses,
immediatelytsuitableblankingcapsorplugstoprevent
theingressofdirt.
Onlyusethecorrectbrakettingswithcompatible
threads.
Observeabsolutecleanlinesswhenworkingwith
hydrauliccomponents.
CoolingSystemCapsandPlugs
expansiontankcapsandcoolantdrainorbleedscrewswhen
theengineishot,especiallyifitisoverheated.T oavoid
thepossibilityofscalding,allowtheenginetocoolbefore
attemptingremoval.
