General
Theexteriorlightingsystemcomprisesexternallymounted
lampsoperatedusingtheMLSandtheauto-lampcontrol
sensor.Thefollowingexternallampsaretted:

•Mainbeamheadlamps
•Numberplatelamps
•Stoplamps/CHMSL
•Directionindicators/Sideindicators
•Frontfoglamps
•Rearfoglamp
•Reverselamps
MainLightSwitch(MLS)
1.LightingModerotaryswitch
2.Fasciailluminationthumbwheel
TheMLSisilluminatedatalltimeswhenthehandsetisdocked
ortheignitionison.Whenthesidelampsordippedbeam
lampsareswitchedon,thepanelilluminationisautomatically
dimmedtopreventglareduringnight-timedriving.
Auto-LampControlSensor
Theauto-lampcontrolsensorisincorporatedwithinthe
rainsensorttedtotheinsideofthewindscreenbehindthe
interiormirror .
Headlamp
Theheadlampsareeachlocatedonvemountingsandsecured
withboltstothebonnetlockingplatform.Theheadlamp
provideslocationsforthesidelamp,dippedbeamandmain
beambulbs.
Thedippedbeamandmainbeamsareallhalogenbulbs.The
smallbulbbesidethedippedbeamisthesidelamp.Each
halogenbulbhaspegswhichensurethatthebulbisinstalled
correctly.Thebulbsaresecuredwithwireclipsandare
coveredbysealingrubbercoverstopreventtheingressof
moistureanddirt.
SideLamps
Eachfrontsidelampislocatedinthesideofeachmainbeam
bulbs.Eachsidelamphasasinglelamentbulb.
NumberPlateLamps
T wonumberplatelampsarelocatedintheundersideofthe
appliqueonthebootlid.
DirectionIndicators
Thefrontdirectionindicatorsarelocatedwithinthecentral
sectionoftheheadlampassemblyandtherearindicatorsare
locatedintheuppersectionofthetaillampassembly.Both
thefrontandrearindicatorlensesaretranslucentandthe
orangeindicatorcolourisprovidedbyanorange-coloured
singlelamentbulb.Thesidedirectionindicatorsarelocated
withinthemirror.Ifwewanttochangethebulb,wemust
changethemirrorassembly.
DirectionIndicator/Dipped/MainBeamSwitch
Thedirectionindicator/dipped/mainbeamswitchislocatedon
theLHsideofthesteeringcolumn.Theswitchcontrolsthe
following:
•LHdirectionindicator
•RHdirectionindicator
•Headlampash
•Dipped/mainbeam
•T ripcomputerfunctions
Boththefrontandrearindicatorsareilluminatedbysingle
lament,bayonettypebulbs.Eachfrontindicatorbulbis
accessiblebyremovingthecoverfromtheheadlampand
turningthebulbholdertoreleaseitfromtheindicatorlens
body.
AsiderepeaterindicatorisLED'smountedinmirrors.
BrakeLamps,CentreHighMountedStopLamp
(CHMSL)andBrakeSwitch
Atail/stoplampsisLED.
ACHMSLislocatedatthetopoftherearscreenandissecured
withtwonutswhichlocateonstudsbondedtotheinside
surfaceoftherearscreen.TheCHMSLcomprisessixteen
LEDspositionedhorizontallyinthehousingattachedtothe
uppercentresectionoftherearscreen.
Thebrakeswitchisattachedtothepedalmountingbracket
locatedbehindthefascia.ThebrakeswitchisaHalleffect
proximitysensorwhichisactivatedbyatangonthetopofthe
brakepedal.
Thebrakepedalisinstalledonapivotshaftinthepedal
mountingbracketontheenginebulkhead.Aclevispinand
