Theelectricwindowsystemwilloperateatalltimeswhenever
thehandsetisdocked,orfor30secondsafterthe
BCM
receivesanignitionoffmessage.Themotorsarepowered
directlyfromelectronicrelayswithintheBCM.BCMresponds
tosignalsfromtheswitchesandpowerstheapplicablewindow
motortoraiseorlowerthewindow.
ManualMode
Manualmodeisinitiatedafterthewindowswitchisoperated
formorethan450ms.Thiswillcausetherequestedwindow
tobeoperatedintheselecteddirectionforaslongasthe
switchison.Whentheswitchisreleased,thewindowwill
stopimmediately.
Automatic(‘one-shot')Mode
Automaticmodeprovidesa'one-shot'downfunctionon
allelectricwindowswithintelligent(anti-trap)windowlift
motorstted(driver'sdooronallmodels,optionalonother
models).Automaticmodeisinitiatedafterthewindowswitch
isoperatedformorethan60ms(shortpress)andlessthan
450ms.Thiswillcausetheselectedwindowtomoveto
thefullyopenposition(orthefullyclosedposition)after
theswitchisreleased.Afurtheroperationoftheselected
windowswitch,fromeitherthe
DDSPorthededicated
windowswitchwillexitautomaticmode.
AntiTrapFunction(WhereFitted)
Anti-trapisafunctionavailableonintelligentwindowlift
motors.Anyincreaseincurrentrequiredbeforethe
expectedtoporbottompointisdetectedisassumedtobe
anobstruction.Ifthisoccursduringlifting,thepolarityis
reversedtoopenthewindowfully.
Whenthewindowisopeningafteratraphasoccurred,
pressingthedriver'swindowswitchagainwillstopthewindow
loweringandresettheanti-trapdetection.
Anti-traphasthehighestpriorityofthedriver'swindow
controlfunctions.Iftheanti-trapfunctionfailsandthe
BCM
isprogrammedforautomode(one-shot),thewindowclose
functionwillonlyoperateininchmode.Manualorautomode
operationwillbedisabled.Inchmodewillonlyoperatethe
windowmotorforaperiodof0.4to0.6seconds,preventing
thewindowfrombeingdrivenupfullyinoneoperation.The
windowswitchmustberepeatedlyoperatedtopowerthe
windowtothefullyupordownposition.
ThermalProtection
BCMThemaximumdefaultcontinuousmotoroperationis
limitedto7seconds.
Windowmotor:Therearetwotypes;anti-trapandnormal.
Anti-trapmotors:thermalprotectionistriggeredbyoperation
time.Aftercontinuousoperationfor30-100seconds,the
thermalprotectionstarts.
Normalmotors:Ifthemotorlocksforabout30seconds,the
motorwillstartthermalselfprotection.
LazyLock/Unlock
Thisfunctionallowsthesimultaneousautoclosing/opening
ofallwindowsandisonlyenabledifallfourwindowsare
ttedwithintelligent(anti-trap)windowliftmotors.Lazy
locking/unlockingisinvokedbyoneofthefollowingactions:
Longpressofthelock/unlockbuttonontheremote
handset.
Inserttheemergencykeyintothedriver’sdoorlock,turn
andholdformorethan2seconds.
Operationofanywindowswitchduringlazylocking/unlocking
willcausethewindowoperationtostopimmediately.Ifthe
vehicle'ssecuritysystemisarmed,lazyunlockingcanonlybe
invokedusingtheremotehandsetoremergencykey.
RearWindowDisable
Therearwindowdisableswitchonthe
DDSPenables/disables
thefunctionoftherearwindowswitches.TheBCMstores
yourselectionuntilyouusetherearwindowdisableswitch
again.
OpenWhenCrashed
Ifthevehiclehascrashed,withimpactdecelerationuptoa
certainvalue,theinertiaswitchwilltrigger,thenallwindows
willautomaticallyopen.
SwitchConicts
Ifaconictarisesbetweenawindowswitchlocatedin
theDDSPandanindividualwindowliftswitchthentheDDSP
willtakepriority.Ifawindowisstoppedduetoconict
betweentheDDSPandtheindividualswitch,whenoneof
theswitchesisreleasedandre-appliedthewindowwillinchin
therequesteddirection.Ifaswitchisactivatedformorethan
20seconds,thentheBCMwillconsiderthistobeafaulty(i.e.
stuck)switchandignorefurtherinputsfromthatswitchfor
thatignitioncycle.
Diagnostics
Adiagnosticsocketallowstheexchangeofinformation
betweentheISOandtherecommendeddiagnosticequipment
viatheCANThediagnosticsocketislocatedinthedriver's
footwellandisconstructedtoISOstandardBCM.BCM
controlsalloutputsforwindowoperation.Ifafaultis
detected,thenacodeapplicabletothatfaultisstoredinafault
log.T wofaultlogsareprovidedwithinthe
BCMforinternal
andexternalfaultsrelativetothewindowliftsystem.
