Thefunctionalityoftheinstrumentpackfeaturesavailableat
anyparticulartimeisdependentonthepositionoftheignition
switch.Theinstrumentpackreceivestheignitionstatusfrom
the
CANnetworkandfromahardwiredinputandusesthese
todetermineitsignitionstatus.
SleepMode
WhenIGNisoff,andnetworkmodebecometosleep
mode,theinstrumentpackwillentersleepmode(ifnoother
wakeuprequestexist),providedthevehiclebatteryremains
connected.
Thefollowingsignalinputsshallcausethenetworktowakeup
theclusterfromsleepmode:
1.DirectionIndicator
CANsignals.
2.T ripComputersteeringwheelswitchCANsignals.
3.AlarmtriggeredCANsignal.
4.KL.15signal.
PreviewMode
Whentheignitionisinposition1andposition0,previewmode
isrequestedeitherbypressingthebuttonofthesteeringwheel
scrollswitches(high-line)orthetripcomputerbuttonbeing
pressed(low-line).Previewmodeoperatesfor30seconds,
afterwhichtheclusterreturnstosleepmode.
Inmessagecentre,thetrip-meterdistanceandtheodometer
distancewillbedisplayed.TheServiceIntervalAnnouncement
(SIA)informationisdisplayedafterwhichthefuelquantity
isdisplayedfortheremainingtime.TheServiceInterval
Announcementinformation(SIA)consistsofaservicesymbol
(spannericon),thedateofanddistancetothenextservice,
togetherwiththetextofdistanceunits‘km’or‘miles’.The
fuelquantitydisplayedshallbeintheform‘Fuel=x/7’wherex
isthesegmentnumberdeterminedbythefueldisplayfunction.
NormalMode(IgnitionOn)
Whentheignitionison,thepre-drivecheckisinitiatedbythe
instrumentpackandthe
CANBusbecomesactive.AllLEDs
areswitchedon.
Thebrakesystemwarninglampwillextinguishafterthe
handbrakereleasedunlessthereisaEBDfaultorabrakeuid
lowstatusexist.Expectthelowengineoilpressurewarning
light,enginemalfunctionwarning(
MIL)light,checkengine
(Drive-by-wire)warninglight(1.8T),batterychargewarning
willilluminateuntiltheenginestart,otherlightswillextinguish
afterself-check.
ShutdownMode
Whentheignitionswitchturnsoff(fromKL.15toKL.R/KL.30),
inshutdownmode,themaindisplayareaofmessage
centredisplaysanyrelevant‘repeat-on-shutdown’designated
warningsthatexistinpriorityorder .
