Foraddedsafety,thehydraulicbrakingsystemoperates
throughdualcircuits.Ifonecircuitshouldfail,theother
willcontinuetofunction,butgreaterpedalpressurewill
beneeded,andincreasedbrakepedaltravel,andlonger
stoppingdistanceswillbeexperienced.Intheeventofa
brakefailurewhereonlyonecircuitisoperational,thecar
shouldbebroughttoahaltassoonastrafcconditions
safelyallow.DONOTcontinuedriving-seekanMG

ServoAssistance
Thebrakingsystemisservoassisted,alwaysbeawareof
thefollowingsduringtheoperation:
Theservoassistancefunctionisreliantuponvacuum,
vacuumisonlyproducedwhilstthevehiclepower
systemisONorREAD Y/RUNNING.NEVERallowthe
cartocoastwhenthevehiclepowersystemisOFF .
Vacuumtosupportthesystemisprovidedbyanelectric
vacuumpump.DONOTcontinuallypumpthebrake
pedal,thismayaffectthevacuumpumpefciency,the
brakingsystemmaybeunabletoprovidesufcient
brakeassistandthevehiclespeedwillbelimited.If
thissituationdoesoccurorisunavoidable,whenitis
safetodoso,pleasepulloverandallowtheelectric
vacuumpumptocooldownforawhile.Pleasepower
thevehicleagain,toreturntonormal.
Ifthepromptmessage"VacuumSystemFault"is
displayedintheinformationmessagecentre,bring
thecartoahaltasquicklyastrafcconditionssafely
allowandcontactanMGAuthorisedRepairerassoon
aspossible.Atthistime,thebrakingsystemmaybe
unabletoprovidesufcientbrakingforce,DONOT
drivethevehicle.
Theefciencyofthebrakeservoboostercanbe
affectedbynumerousconditions,suchaschangeof
atmosphericpressureduetoaltitudedifferences.These
conditionscouldresultinextraforcebeingrequiredto
operatethebrakepedaltostopthecar .
