EnablingtheEPB
Whenthevehicleisparkedsafely,selectingPontheshift
controlknobwillautomaticallyapplytheEPB.
IfautomaticapplicationoftheEPBfails,itisnecessaryto
manuallyapplytheparkingbrakeusingtheEPBswitch.
•PulltheEPBswitchupwarduntiltheindicatorintheEPB
switchilluminates.
•Simultaneously,theEPBindicatorwillilluminatein
theinstrumentpack.WhentheindicatorintheEPB
switchandtheEPBindicatorareilluminated,itindicates
thattheEPBisapplied.
•IftheEPBmalfunctionindicatorlamp
P
inthe
instrumentpackremainson,itindicatesthatafault
hasbeendetected.PleasecontactanMGAuthorised
Repairerimmediately.
Note:Anaudiblemotornoisemaybeheardwhen
applyingorreleasingtheEPB.
IMPORTANT
•DONOTleavethevehiclebeforetheindicatorin
EPBswitchilluminatesandthegearindicatordisplays
P ,thevehiclemaynotbesafelyparkedduetoEPB
failureandslip.
•Intheeventofaatbatteryorpowerfailureitis
notpossibletoapplyorreleasetheEPB.Ifusing
'jumpleads'totemporarilysupplypowerpleasesee
'EmergencyStarting'intheEmergencyInformation.
ReleasingtheEPB
Ifthevehicleisstablyparkedonaatroadorslight
incline/decline,thevehiclepowersystemisREADY,press
thebrakepedaltoallowtheshiftcontrolsystemtoswitch
fromPtoN,DorR,theEPBwillautomaticallyreleased.
Ifonasteepslope,switchingfromthePpositionwillnot
automaticallyreleasetheEPB.Inthiscase,manuallyrelease
theEPBasfollowsorapplythestartassistfunctionofthe
EPBtoreleasetheEPB.
