Protecting the appliance from
damage
~
When grilling or keeping food warm,
do not use pots and pans or similar on
the open grill and never cover the rack
(e.g. with aluminium foil) or use
disposable aluminium foil containers.
The resulting build-up of heat could
damage the rack.
~
Do not drop anything on the glass
surface. Even a light object could
cause damage in certain
circumstances.
~
Do not use a steam cleaner to clean
this appliance. The steam could reach
electrical components and cause a
short circuit. Pressurised steam could
also cause permanent damage to the
surface and to other components, for
which the manufacturer cannot accept
liability.

Take care when cleaning the control
panel. It is susceptible to scratching
and acidic agents. To prevent the risk
of residual marks please wipe any
soiling off as soon as possible.
~
In countries where there are areas
which may be subject to infestation by
cockroaches or other vermin, pay
particular attention to keeping the
appliance and its surroundings in a
clean condition at all times. Any
damage which may be caused by
cockroaches and other vermin will not
be covered by the appliance
guarantee.
Protection from burning and
scalding
~
Never leave the grill unattended
while grilling is taking place.
Overheated oil or residues of food or fat
on the lava rocks could flare up and
even set the cooker hood alight.
~
Should anything catch fire despite
this do not attempt to put the flames out
with water. Instead extinguish the
flames using a suitable fire blanket,
damp towel or similar to smother the
flames.
~
For added protection, it is advisable
to use heat-resistant pot holders or
gloves when using the appliance. Do
not let them get damp or wet, as this
causes heat to transfer through the
material more quickly with the risk of
burning yourself.
~
Do not use the appliance as a
resting place for anything else. This
could lead to a danger of the article
beginning to melt or catching fire, if
residual heat were still present or if the
appliance was switched on by mistake.
~
Do not cover the appliance, e.g.
with a cloth, kitchen foil, etc. This could
be a fire hazard if the appliance was
switched on by mistake.
~
Clean the lava rocks regularly and
replace them when necessary. Rocks
which are saturated catch fire easily.
The grill trough and the lava rock
container should be cleaned after each
use to keep them free of oil and fat.
