Problem Possible cause and remedy
In the display for a cooking zone
the ß symbol flashes alternately
with the selected power setting
or A.
There is no pan on the cooking zone, or the
pan is unsuitable.

Use a suitable pan (see "Pans").
After switching the cooktop on,
"LC" appears in the timer display
for several seconds.
The system lock has been activated.

You need to deactivate the system lock (see
"Safety lock / System lock").
After switching on the cooktop,
"dE" appears in the timer display
for several seconds. The cooking
zones don't heat up.
The demonstration mode has been switched
on.
^
Touch and hold the "0" and sensors at
the same time until "dE" disappears from the
timer display.
A cooking zone switches itself off
automatically.
A cooking zone might have been operated for
too long.
^ You can use the cooking zone again by
switching it back on (see "Safety switch-off").
The Booster has automatically
switched off early.
The overheating protection mechanism has
been activated.

The cooking zone is not working
in the usual way on the power
setting selected.
Power setting 9 is automatically
reduced if you select power
setting 9 on two linked cooking
zones or extended zones at the
same time.
Operating both zones at power setting 9
would exceed the permitted maximum power
for the cooktop.

Use another cooking zone which is not
linked.
The food in the pan hardly heats
up or does not heat up at all
when the Auto heat-up function
is switched on.
There is too much food in the pan.

Start cooking at the highest setting, then
turn the heat down manually.
The pan is not conducting heat properly.
^
Use a different pan which is better able to
conduct heat on an induction cooktop.
