4.1Power supply
Optional external power supply
Power is supplied via the data cable by default. Power can also be supplied via the
external industrial power supply unit (L3 option) (see accessories). Make sure that the
voltage rating printed on this unit matches the voltage at the place of installation. If the
supply voltage specied on the label or the type of power supply plug does not comply
with the standard that you use, please contact the supplier. A power supply line from the
ceiling or the installation of a CEE plug should be carried out internally by a qualied
electrician.
Only use original power supply units. The use of cables from other manufacturers, even if
these units have a registered approval rating from a national testing laboratory, requires
the consent of a qualied electrician.
Detailed information about additional power supply options (e.g. "local low voltage") is
available upon request directly from Minebea Intec.
The power must be connected in accordance with the regulations applicable in your
country.
Fixed connection
If the power cable is permanently installed or secured so that it cannot be unplugged, an
emergency shut-o switch must be installed for disconnecting power to the device. This
switch must be installed in the vicinity of the device and be easily accessible to the user.
The switch should be labeled as a disconnecting device. Device operators must be
instructed on the use of this switch.
Avoid connecting the device to lines that have a heavy electrical load (compressors, etc.).
Usable cable lengths
Since you can choose to power the weighing platform via the interface port of a control
terminal or a separate power supply unit that can be connected to the weighing platform
(optional installation of a power connection), there are a few restrictions that apply to the
cable lengths between these components:
Each individual component must be supplied separately when there is a cable length of
more than twelve meters between the weighing platform and control unit.
