5.2 Connections
For PR 1626/6x with a serial num-
ber <10,000, color coding is carri-
ed out using a light blue (intrinsi-
cally safe connection) and a black
(non-intrinsically safe connection)
terminal block.
For PR 1626/6x with a serial num-
ber ≥10,000, only black terminal
blocks are used. Identication of
intrinsic safety is ensured by labe-
ling of the connection sides
("Ex connections" and "no-
nEx connections").
- The intrinsically safe terminal contacts 1–15 (Ex connections) are intended for
connections in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- The non-intrinsically safe terminal contacts 16–30 (Non-Ex connections) are intended
for connections in non-potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Terminal contacts, including the PE terminal, can be assigned wires up to a cross-
section of 4 mm
2
.
- The cable shielding must be connected to the appropriate terminals in the shortest
possible way.
