(1) Paper Separating Mechanism
• The coefficient of friction between the Paper Take-Up Roll and Separator Pad is effec-
tively used to prevent double feed of paper.
When one sheet of paper
is taken up
: The coefficient of friction on the front side of the sheet of
paper taken up and fed through the space between the
Paper Take-Up Roll and Separator Pad is the same as that
on the backside of the sheet of paper, allowing the paper to
be properly fed into the copier.
When two or more sheets
of paper are taken up
: The coefficient of friction between the paper and the Sepa-
rator Pad is greater than that between the sheets of paper,
which allows only the top sheet of paper to be fed into the
copier.
