In the case of the Angular Elevation

the range of the vertical scale value (70 mils), as in the figure
showed, first put the vertical scale Value ‚0‘ at the foot of the ligh-
thouse, then we could find the Angular Elevation of the lighthouse
at 60 MILs easily and directly.
In the case of the Angular Elevation of the target object beyond
the range of the Vertical Scale Value (70 Mils), we should deter-
mine it in stages.

surface to the peak of the object is know as Angular Elevation of
that object with reference to the particular point on the surface.
