This mode will automatically switch between stereo and 5.1 at its input to
provide 5.1 output at all times. This ensures a fully automatic delivery of 5.1
audio to the consumer.

Up-Mix processing takes one video frame to perform.

The Imagestore 750 has built-in video delays that allow the user to
compensate for this delay. This is covered for Dolby modules on page 377,
and exactly the same principles apply to Up-Mix.
Up-Mix Module Firmware Upgrading
Firmware for the Up-Mix modules is included within the Imagestore 750
software release. A module’s firmware will be upgraded automatically during
a software update, but only when an update is required. However, it is worth
noting that Up-Mix module firmware upgrades are relatively slow compared
with other parts of the software/firmware upgrade process.
