Selection and Replacement of the Models
The CPU modules and extension modules of FX3G/FX3U/FX3UC can be replaced by selecting models from the successor
models FX5S/FX5UJ/FX5U/FX5UC that match the system.
Select models according to the following selection table.

For performance specifications, functions and external dimensions not described in the following table, refer to the relevant
part in this manual or the user's manual of each module.

Clock function       • FX5S/FX5UJ: The clock data is
maintained (for 15 days) with the
internal, large-capacity capacitor
of the CPU module. If the voltage
of the large-capacity capacitor
drops, the clock data will not be
maintained correctly.
• FX5U/FX5UC: The clock data is
maintained (for 10 days) with the
internal, large-capacity capacitor
of the CPU module. When the
optional battery is in use,
operation is continued with the
battery.
The FX5S, FX5UJ, FX5U, and
FX5UC support a time setting
function (an SNTP client). Check
whether this function can be
substituted. For details, refer to
MELSEC iQ-F FX5 User's
Manual (Ethernet Communication).

module for analog control can be
used. If the number of analog
expansion adapters is insufficient,
