Suitable wiring and tightening torque are described below.
■Differences and precautions regarding installing the FX3U and FX5U
The FX3U and FX5U CPU modules have the same vertical and horizontal sizes, but the pitch of the installation holes in a
horizontal control panel will differ depending on the model name of the FX5U switched to. When making a direct installation in
a control panel, installation holes must be added. Also, because the terminal block shapes differ, one terminal block cannot be
replaced with the other. ( Page 68 External dimension drawing)
■Differences and precautions regarding the drive power supply of the output section of the
FX3U-16M and FX5U
• Output section power supply consolidation
When replacing the FX3U-16M with the FX5U, the power supplies must be consolidated if a separate power supply has
been installed with the common terminal of the FX3U-16M.
• Maximum output load current
When the FX3U-16M is replaced with the FX5U, the maximum load current of the output section changes.
If separate power supplies have been installed with each common terminal, consolidate the power supplies.
