4.5 Self-Diagnostic Function
(1) What is the self-diagnostic function?
The self-diagnostic function allows the C Controller module to detect its own error
during operation, preventing a malfunction and providing preventive maintenance.
(2) Processing after error detection
When the C Controller module is started in normal operation mode and if an error is
detected by the self-diagnostic function, the C Controller module behaves as
described below.
(a) Turning on or flashing the ERR. LED
The ERR. LED on the front side of the C Controller module turns on or flashes.
(b) Flashing the 7-segment LED (Q12DCCPU-V only)
The 7-segment LED on the front of the C Controller module flashes, indicating
"00", "01" or "02".
(c) Storing error data
An error code is stored and error information is changed.
The error code and error information can be confirmed in "Error code" and "Error
information" in <<Module information>> of C Controller setting utility.
(d) Disabling writes and clearing outputs
Upon detection of an error, outputs (Y) from the user program and writing to the
buffer memory is disabled, and outputs to output modules, I/O modules, and
intelligent function modules are cleared.
In C Controller setting utility, users can select "Stop" or "Continue" for the output
(Y) from the user program and writing to the buffer memory, "Clear" or "Hold" for
each output, and "All stop" or "Continue" for a multiple CPU system, as described
below.
1) For an error detected in an intelligent function module
Whether to stop or continue the output (Y) from the user program and writing
to the buffer memory can be selected for the intelligent function module.
Set it in "H/W error time CPU operation mode" in <<I/O assignment settings>>
of C Controller setting utility.
2) Outputs to output modules, I/O modules, and intelligent function modules in
the case of error detection
Whether to clear or hold the output to each of output modules, I/O modules,
and intelligent function modules in the case of error detection can be selected.
Set it in "Error time output mode" in <<I/O assignment settings>> of C
Controller setting utility.
