I/O NUMBER ASSIGNMENT
POINT
The C Controller module can control the system even if I/O numbers are not
assigned in C Controller setting utility.
Assign I/O numbers according to the following.
(1) Number of slots of base units
The number of slots of each base unit is set in the base mode. ( Page 7-7,
Section 7.3)
(a) In Auto mode
The number of slots allowed for the base unit is set.
For example, five slots are set for a 5-slot base unit, and twelve slots for a 12-slot
base unit.
(b) In Detail mode
The number of slots set in <<I/O assignment settings>> of C Controller utility is
applied.
(2) Order of I/O number assignment
I/O numbers are assigned consecutively from left to right, starting the slot next to the
C Controller module on a main base unit or slim type main base unit set to 0
H.
(3) Order of I/O number assignment for extension base units
To extension base units, I/O numbers are assigned following the last I/O number of
the main base unit.
Assign them consecutively from left (I/O 0) to right as shown in Figure 7.15, in order of
the stage number setting connector settings of the extension base units.
(4) I/O numbers assigned to respective slots
Each slot of a base unit occupies the points equal to the I/O numbers for each I/O
module or intelligent function module.
When a 32-point input module is mounted on the right of the C Controller module, the
I/O numbers are X0 to X1F.
