I/O NUMBER ASSIGNMENT
7.6 I/O Assignment by C Controller Setting Utility
This section describes I/O assignment using C Controller setting utility.
7.6.1 Purposes of I/O assignment by C Controller setting utility
Use C Controller setting utility for I/O assignment in the following cases.
(1) Reserving points for future replacement with a module other than 16-
point module
When a currently used module is to be replaced with another module of any other
points in the future, the points can be reserved in advance so that the I/O numbers
need not be changed.
For example, a slot where a 16-point input module is currently mounted can be
assigned to a 32-point input module.
(2) Preventing I/O number change in module replacement
When an I/O module or intelligent function module other than 16-point modules is
removed due to a malfunction, any I/O number change can be prevented.
(3) Changing I/O numbers to those used in the user program
When I/O numbers used in a user program are different from those in the actual
system, I/O numbers of each module can be changed to those in the user program.
(4) Setting input response time (I/O response time)
The input response time of an input module, I/O combined module, or interrupt
module can be changed to the time suitable to the system. ( Page 4-34, Section
4.8)
(5) Setting output mode for error
A desired output mode can be set to output modules, I/O combined modules, and
interrupt modules for the time when an error occurs. ( Page 4-36, Section 4.9)
(6) Setting switches of intelligent function modules and interrupt modules
The switches of intelligent function modules and interrupt modules can be set. (
Page 4-38, Section 4.11)
(7) Setting the output status for a C Controller module error
The output status (hold/clear) of output modules and intelligent function modules can
be set for the time when the C Controller module stops its operation due to a stop
error. ( Page 4-36, Section 4.9)
