  If charging cannot be started, several factors could be the reason. First, make sure the electric motor switch is in the 'LOCK' position before attempting to charge. Charging is disabled if the main drive lithium-ion battery is already fully charged, and it automatically stops when full. The battery temperature may be too high or too low; in that case, further instructions can be found in 'Cautions and actions to deal with intense heat' on page 3-8 and 'Cautions and actions to deal with intense cold' on page 3-10. If the 12V starter battery is discharged, try charging or jump-starting it; refer to 'Jump-starting' on page 8-2. A malfunction in the vehicle or charging cable could also be the reason. Check for warning lights or indicators; if a warning is displayed, stop charging.

  If regular charging won't start, check if there's a power failure or if the breaker is off. If using an outlet with a timer, power is only available during the set time. Ensure the POWER indicator on the control box is lit. Also, confirm the charge connector is correctly connected. If the connector was repeatedly connected and disconnected quickly, disconnect it, wait, and restart the charging procedure. Make sure you're using the EV charging cable designed for your vehicle. If you are using a regular charger, ensure it is compatible with your vehicle.

  Quick charging might stop due to several reasons. Charging will stop depending on the timer function setting of the quick charge device. Also, charging is designed to stop when the main drive lithium-ion battery capacity reaches 80%. If you need to charge the main drive lithium-ion battery more than 80%, start the charging procedure again. Check whether the power supply for the quick charger is off.

  If regular charging stops, it could be due to a power failure or a tripped breaker; charging will resume when the power is restored. Verify the EV charging cable is securely connected. If the charge connector button was held down, the charging will stop, so restart the procedure. The battery temperature may also be too high or low, refer to 'Cautions and actions to deal with intense heat' on page 3-8 and 'Cautions and actions to deal with intense cold' on page 3-10. Charging may also stop based on the regular charge timer settings; restart the procedure if more charging is needed.
