ENGINE - INSPECTION / ADJUSTMENT, RUNNING-IN TRIAL AND PERFORMANCE TEST
8 - 11
1.10 Inspecting the V-belt tension
(1) Press the V-belt at the midpoint of the alternator
pulley and the crankshaft pulley, and measure the
deflection of the belt.
Unit: mm (in.)
Standard
value
V-belt tension
{belt deflection when pressed with a
force of approx. 98 N (10 kgf) [22.0
lbf]}
10 to 12
(0.4 to 0.5)
(2) If the measured deflection does not conform to
the standard value, loosen the adjusting bolt and
move the alternator for adjustment.

Deflection of 10 to 12mm

{when pressed with a force
of approx. 98 N (10 kgf) [22.0 lbf]}
