Load
a
pre-recorded
tape.

ifacassette

the
erasure
prevention
tab
removed

loaded

unit
automatically
switches

play
mode

playback
begins.
Turn
ON
the
TV
and
set
it
to
the
Video
Channel.

If
necessary,
set
the
COLOUR
SYSTEM
of
the
VCR
MENU
to
the
appropriate
position.

COLOUR
SYSTEM
on
the
right.)
Press
the
PLAY
button
to
start
playback.

Press
the
STOP
button
to
stop
playback.

REWINDING
Press
the
REW
button
to
rewind
the
tape.
Mi
FAST
FORWARD
Press
the
FF
button
to
run
the
tape
fast
forward.
AUTOMATIC
REWIND
MECHANISM
When
the
tape
reaches
the
end
in
the
recording,
playback
or
forward
speed
search
mode,
itis
rewound
automatically,
and
then
stops.
The
automatic
rewind
does
not
work
when
the
tape
reaches
the
end
in
the
following
situations:

Blank
search
One
touch
timer
recording
Programmed
recording
Search
by
time
Index
search
e
Fast
forward
or
rewind
can
be
engaged
only
when
the
VCR
is
in
the
stop
mode.
If
selected
during
playback,
speed
search
mode
will
be
engaged.

SYSTEM
When
playing
back
a
tape
recorded
in
MESECAM,
set
the
COLOUR
SYSTEM
of
the
VCR
MENU
to
MESECAMas
follows.
Press
the
MENU
button.
(The
VCR
MENU
appears
on
the
TV
screen.)
Turn
the
JOG
dial
to
move
the
cursor
until
itis
to
the
left
of
item
COLOUR
SYSTEM.

MESECAM
by
turning
the
SHUTTLE
ring
right.

the
MENU
button
to
exit
the
VCR
MENU.

This
VCR
does
not
play
back
a
tape
recorded
in
SECAM.
e
When
playing
back
a
tape
recorded
in
MESECAM
at
LP
mode,
the
colour
noise
may
appear.
1.
This
set
is
for
exclusive
use
with
the
PAL
colour
system
(system
B
and
G).
2.
SECAM
(system
B
and
G)
colour
programmes
can
be
recorded
in
certain
areas
but
there
is
no
interchangeability
of
these
recorded
cassette
tapes
with
other
PAL-VHS
recorders
or
SECAM-VHS
recorders.
3.
Please
use
the
excluseve
SECAM-VHS
recorder
in
French
SECAM
broadcasting
areas.
4.
Please
use
only
PAL
pre-recorded
cassette
tapes
of
PAL
signals
which
have
been
recorded
with
the
PAL-VHS
system.
NTSC
PLAYBACK
(ON
PAL
TV)
Tapes
recorded
in
NTSC
can
be
played
back
with
this
VCR
via
a
PAL
system
TV
sets.
e
Depending
on
types
of
TV
sets
used,
the
picture
may
shrink
vertically
and
black
bars
both
the
top
and
bottom
on
the
screen.
This
is
not
an
indication
of
a
malfunction.
e@
The
playback
picture
may
roll
up
and
down.
If
the
TV
set
is
equipped
with
a
V-HOLD
control,
it
may
be
possible
to
stop
the
picture
movement
by
adjusting
this
control.
However,
TVs
not
equipped
with
a
V-HOLD
control
cannot
correct
this
condition.
e
During
special
playback,
the
picture
may
not
be
in
colour.
Recording
in
the
NTSC
system
is
not
possible
with
this
VCR.
e
This
function
is
designed
only
to
allow
the
playback
of
tapes
recorded
by
NTSC
signals
on
a
PAL
system
TV.
The
NTSC
signal
is
not
completely
converted
to
a
PAL
signal.
For
this
reason,
images
played
back
by
this
function
cannot
be
recorded
on
another
VCR.
e
The
Hi-Fi
sound
recorded
in
NTSC
cannot
be
played
back.
Only
NORMAL
sound
is
played
back.
e
The
noise
may
appear
on
the
screen
when
playing
back
a
tape
recorded
at
LP
in
S-VHS
system.
e@
The
noise
may
appear
on
the
screen
when
playing
back
a
tape
recorded
at
EP.
