TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) DIAGNOSIS

STEP 4. Check whether the DTC is set again.
Recheck if the DTC is set.
(1) Turn the ignition switch (engine starting switch) from the
"LOCK" (OFF) to "ON" position.
(2) Check if the DTC is set.
(3) Turn the ignition switch (engine starting switch) to the
"LOCK" (OFF) position.
Q: Is DTC C1564 set?
YES : Replace the ETACS-ECU <Vehicles without Keyless
Operation System> (Refer to GROUP 54A ETACS
P.54A-260) or KOS&OSS-ECU <Vehicles with
Keyless Operation System> (Refer to GROUP 42B,
KOS&OSS-ECU
P.42B-132)
NO : The diagnosis is complete.
DTC C1900: Tire ID code No registration
CAUTION
If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an
incorrect DTC may be set. Prior to this diagnosis,
diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP
54C
 CAN Bus Diagnostics Table P.54C-12).

DTC SET CONDITION
When the ID codes of the TPMS transmitter is not set
in ETACS-ECU <Vehicles without Keyless Operation
System> or KOS&OSS-ECU <Vehicles with Keyless
Operation System>, and/or when ETACS-ECU
<Vehicles without Keyless Operation System> or
KOS&OSS-ECU <Vehicles with Keyless Operation
System> is replaced with a new one, this code is set.
If the ID registration mode is terminated forcibly or
timeout after one or more TPMS transmitters are reg
-
istered in the ID registration mode, the ID codes in
the ETACS-ECU <Vehicles without Keyless Opera
-
tion System> or KOS&OSS-ECU <Vehicles with
Keyless Operation System> is erased, and this diag
-
nostic trouble code is set.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
The most likely causes for this DTC to be set are:
 The CAN bus may be defective.
 Malfunction of TPMS transmitter
 Malfunction of ETACS-ECU <Vehicles without
Keyless Operation System>
 Malfunction of KOS&OSS-ECU <Vehicles with
Keyless Operation System>
 ID code registration failed
DIAGNOSIS
STEP 1. Using scan tool MB991958, diagnose the CAN bus
lines.
Use scan tool to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES : Go to Step 2.
NO : Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C 
CAN Bus Diagnostics Table
P.54C-12). On
completion, go to Step 2.
