STEP 2. Using scan tool MB991958, read the diagnostic
trouble code.
(1) Turn the ignition switch (engine starting switch) to the ON
position.
(2) Check whether any TPMS DTC is set.
Q: Is any TPMS DTC set?
YES : Carry out the relevant TPMS troubleshooting (Refer
to
P.31-18).
NO : Go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Check the combination meter.
Check that the combination meter warning lights and indicators
other than TPMS warning light illuminate normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES : Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A -
ETACS-ECU
P.54A-260) <vehicles without Keyless
Operation System> or KOS&OSS-ECU (Refer to
GROUP 42B - KOS&OSS-ECU
P.42B-132) <vehicles
with Keyless Operation System> and execute "Tire
Pressure Sensor ID Registration" and/or "Tire PRS.
Sensor ID Reg. (Set 2)" on scan tool MB991958
"Special Function" (Refer to
P.31-42). Then go to Step
4.
NO : Replace the combination meter assembly (Refer to
GROUP 54A - Combination Meter Assembly
P.54A-61). Then go to Step 4.
STEP 4. Retest the system.
Q: Does the TPMS warning light turn ON and OFF
normally?
YES : The procedure is complete.
NO : Repeat the troubleshooting from Step 1.
