component retention.
1 Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands
2 Support the axle with a jack.
3 Remove the right side lateral rod bolt
(see illustration).
4 Remove the lower left shock absorber bolt.
5 Lower the axle and remove the springs and seats.
6 Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the nuts and bolts to the
torques listed in the Specifications Section at the beginning of this Chapter
before lowering the vehicle weight onto the suspension.

Wheneveranyofthesuspensionorsteeringfastenersareloos-
ened or removed, they must be inspected and, if necessary, replaced with
newonesofthesamepartnumberoroforiginalequipmentqualityandde-
sign. Torque specifications must be followed for proper reassembly and
component retention.
