COMPLIANCE
Possible electric components, that the Manufacturer assembles to the actuator, are in compliance
with the European Directives below:
- 2014/35/EU Low voltage Directive (LVD)
- 2014/30/EU Electro-magnetic compatibility Directive (EMC)
The Design and the manufacture have been carried out according to the following standardization:
EN61241-10, EN 12100-1, EN 12100-2.
The European directives and technical standards referring to electrical parts are applied to the KEC,
KED electro-pneumatic valves and to the KEF limit switches (if installed).

1. Introduction and description
Application of the 2006/42/EC directive
RAP pneumatic actuator does not fall within the eld of the above mentioned Directive.
We at MIX SRL have envisaged the installation of the above mentioned pneumatic actuator to the
buttery valves of our own production. These valves, when manually operated are excluded by
the above mentioned Directive, while, with an actuator RAP they fall within the eld of applica-
tion of this Directive, therefore they are classied as “partly completed machineries”
This product does not comply with te Directive 2014/34/UE
Prohibits the use of this product in potentially explosive atmospheres subject to directive
2014/34/UE
Thank you for choosing a MIX product. The pneumatic actuator is a simple machine; to ensure good
service and a long working life, follow the instructions given in this istructions and use original
spare parts. The pneumatic actuator is used to open and close the valve to which it is connected,
ensuring that it is operated quickly and precisely. This is achieved by means of a piston moved by
the force of the compressed air, transmitting a rotational movement to the valve by means of a xed
rack and pinion coupling. The actuator consists of an aluminium cylinder and a body in the same
material which houses two shafts; the shaft with the rack, with the piston at its other end, and the
shaft with the pinion, which is then keyed to the body of the valve.
Since the actuator is designed to operate in a plant, security guards to be implemented during instal-
lation and use are prescribed by the manufacturer and then implemented by the system manufacturer.
