1-1a. Injury during assembly and maintenance
1-1b. Maintenance must not be carried out with parts connected to the electricity supply and live
and/or pneumatic components pressurized.
1-2a. The actuator is damaged during installation.
1-2b. Only expressly authorised personnel must be allowed to install the actuator.
1-3a. Injury during greasing operations.
1-3b. Greasing must not be carried out with parts connected to the electricity supply and live and/
or pneumatic components pressurized.
1-4a. Intoxication during cleaning.
1-4b. Use of non toxic and non ammable solvents
1-5a. Accidental starting of the electric control panel.
1-5b. The door of the electric control panel is locked by means of a key or a special tool.
1-6a. Contact with damaged electrical cables.
1-6b. Use protective sheaths on cables and xed supports.
1-7a. Electric discharge caused by lightning.
1-7b. Place the appliance in an area protected against lightning, according to regulations. Earth
it to the structure’s earthing system.
In case of electro-pneumatic RAP complete with buttery valve SVA the residual risks to be solved,
in addition to those listed above, are the following:
2-1a. Dangers caused by equipment connected to the actuator.
21-b. The RAP actuator may only be used to operate the SVA buttery valve: there are no dangers
if the instructions given the operating manuals are followed.
2-2a. Injuries to hands and arms introduced into the valve through the upstream and downstream
connections.
2-2b. The connections upstream and downstream should be connected to pipes or hoppers of the
plant (by the installator) and then made inaccessible.
2-3a. Damage from atmospheric pollution due to the leakage of dust through up- or downstream
connections.
2-3b. The up- and downstream connections are to be connected to the plant hoppers or pipes with
seals and thus rendered airtight.
7. Lubrication
The pneumatic actuator is supplied with long-life grease which does not require replacement.Lu-
bricated, ltered compressed air should be used.
