How the particulate matter sensor works
The sensor in your Molekule Air Mini+ is designed to give you a window into the air
quality of the room it’s operating in. The sensor uses an LED and a light-sensitive
detector to gauge the concentration of particles in the air in front of it. At sufficient
concentrations, it is sensitive to all forms of particulate matter, like dust, smoke,
components of vehicle exhaust, soot, and many other airborne substances.
Particulate matter can be harmful for many people. But it’s just one aspect of
air pollution.
While Molekule Air Mini+ doesn’t measure other types of pollution like ozone, VOCs,
and allergens, you can rest assured that the PECO technology at the core of your
device is working to help destroy them.
