Overview

The MOOSE RACING AGROID RS-16 E-Balance Bike is a battery-powered electric balance bike designed for children, featuring a grip-type throttle. It is intended for recreational use and requires adult supervision during operation. The bike is not suitable for riders under 8 years old or heavier than 132 lbs (60 kg).

Function Description

The AGROID RS-16 E-Balance Bike provides a powered riding experience for children, allowing them to develop balance and coordination skills. It operates with a grip-type throttle for speed control and a hand brake for stopping. The bike offers three distinct speed modes (Low, Middle, High) to accommodate different skill levels, with the ability to change modes when the bike is stopped and the hand brake is fully engaged. Riders are encouraged to master non-powered riding before transitioning to powered modes.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Normal Wear and Tear Items Warranty: 30 Days (Sprocket, chain, grips, bar plugs, saddle, footrest, brake cable/housings, brake lining, tires).

Usage Features

  • Adult Supervision: Required at all times when the bike is in use. Adults are responsible for supervising the rider and ensuring safety precautions.
  • Safety Equipment: Riders must wear proper protective equipment, including a properly fitting helmet (meeting CPSC standards), eye protection, shoes covering the entire foot, and elbow and knee pad protection. Shoelaces should be tied and kept away from moving parts.
  • Riding Environment: Intended for use on flat, dry, solid surfaces in open, outdoor, controlled environments. Avoid public streets, roads, highways, mud, ice, puddles, wet/icy weather, loose debris (sand, leaves, rocks, gravel), sharp bumps, drainage grates, sudden surface changes, and swimming pools. Not for indoor use.
  • Starting and Stopping: The bike should only be operated when the rider is seated with both hands on the handlebars and both feet flat on the ground. The throttle should not be activated unless these conditions are met. The hand brake provides positive braking action.
  • Battery Management:
    • The bike consumes the most power at start-up; riders are recommended to use their feet to push off to extend battery life.
    • The bike automatically turns off after 1 minute of inactivity to conserve battery charge.
    • The battery should be removed when the unit is not in use.
    • Battery status is displayed on an LED monitor on the handlebars (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%).
  • Speed Mode Selection: Speed modes can only be changed by an adult when the bike is stopped and the hand brake is fully engaged. The power switch is pressed twice in quick succession to cycle through the modes.
  • Non-Powered Training: Riders should first practice using the bike without power, pushing with their feet to learn balance, coasting, controlled turning, and braking.
  • Powered Mode Training: Begin with the Low speed mode, gradually increasing throttle use and practicing safe stops. Progress to Middle and High speeds only after mastering the previous skill levels.
  • Transportation: Before transporting, ensure the bike is powered off, remove the battery, and secure the bike in the vehicle to prevent shifting.

Maintenance Features

  • Pre-Ride Inspection: Before each ride, a thorough inspection is required:
    • Safety Gear: Verify the rider is wearing all necessary protective equipment.
    • Power Off: Ensure the bike is powered off before mounting.
    • Battery: Confirm the battery is fully charged and properly installed.
    • Throttle: Check for free rotation and no visible damage.
    • Brake: Ensure proper function and that it doesn't rub when released. Adjust as needed.
    • Side Cover and Chain Guard: Verify they are properly installed and secure.
    • Tires and Wheels: Inspect for proper inflation (refer to sidewall for pressure) and excessive wear. Check for wheel wobbling.
    • Frame, Fork, Stem, Handlebars: Check for cracks, dents, and loose hardware.
    • Hardware/Loose Parts: Inspect all nuts, bolts, cables, and fasteners for security. Listen for unusual rattles. Do not ride if damaged.
  • Charging: The battery must be charged using the supplied AGROID RS-16 charger only. Do not charge outdoors. The charger indicates charging status with LED lights:
    • Solid red, flashing green: Fully charged.
    • Solid red, solid green: Charging.
    • Flashing red: Too hot/cold to charge.
    • Flashing red, flashing green: Battery is defective.
  • Battery Installation/Removal: Handlebars must be turned 45 degrees to allow room for battery insertion/removal. The battery slides into a slot on the down tube and clicks into place for a secure connection. Press the release latch/buttons to remove.
  • Cleaning: Never immerse or wash the bike with water, as electrical and drive components can be damaged.
  • Battery Disposal: The sealed lithium cell battery must be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally safe manner, following federal, state, and local laws. Do not dispose of in fire or regular household trash.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a limited warranty covering material and manufacturing defects. Warranty claims require original proof of purchase and serial number(s). The warranty is void if the product is misused, poorly maintained, modified, exposed to water, or used for commercial purposes.
