Usage Features:
The hob is operated via control knobs, each corresponding to a specific gas burner.
- Electronic Ignition: To ignite a burner, the user must insert a battery into the battery box (located on the underside of the cooker), turn on the gas supply, depress the knob, and rotate it anti-clockwise 90° to the maximum flame position. A continuous clicking sound indicates ignition. The knob should be released once the burner is lit.
- Safety Device (for models with safety device): This feature automatically shuts off the gas supply if the flame is extinguished due to wind or spills, preventing gas leakage. The ignition process for these models requires depressing the knob for 5-8 seconds to allow the safety device to activate.
- Flame Adjustment: The flame intensity can be adjusted by rotating the control knob.
- Shutting Off: Turning the knob clockwise to the "OFF" position will shut off the gas supply and extinguish the flame.
- Ventilation: Proper kitchen ventilation is crucial during use, with recommendations for open windows or a mechanical extractor hood, especially during prolonged or intensive cooking.
- Pan Stability: Pans should be positioned centrally over the burner for stability, avoiding overhang. Only wok supports supplied or recommended by the manufacturer should be used.
- Regulator Type: Only low-pressure regulators are to be used with this appliance.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning:
- Allow the glass hob to cool down before cleaning.
- Clean the glass plate with a cloth and warm soapy water.
- Avoid caustic solutions, washing soda, aerosol spray cleaners, bleach, and certain biological cleaners on burners and caps as they can be detrimental to the finish.
- Do not put burner caps into a dishwasher.
- Remove spillage from the anti-spillage tray before cleaning. Control knobs can be pulled off for cleaning.
- When re-assembling the anti-spillage tray, ensure it is correctly located over the spark electrode. Keep the electrode clean and avoid damaging the porcelain insulator.
- Hose Inspection: Regularly check the rubber hose for signs of aging or damage. It is recommended to change the gas inlet hose every 2 years. Ensure the hose does not pass over the hob or get depressed/bent.
- Burner Component Check: Before using, ensure that burners, copper caps, and wok stands are placed in their proper positions.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as failed ignition, abnormal flame, gas smell, and burner backfire. It lists potential causes and remedies, advising users to contact an authorized technician or gas supply authority service agent for problems that cannot be rectified.
- Gas Leak Protocol: In case of a gas leak, immediately switch off the stopcock, open all windows for ventilation, and refrain from lighting matches or operating electric switches. Contact an authorized technician immediately.
