FITTING A WIRE WHEEL:
1. With the vehicle still raised on a jack, align the spines on the hub to the
wheel and then slide the wheel on and hand tighten the centre lock nut.
2. Tighten the centre lock nut further by placing the provided wheel spanner
over the centre lock nut and hit with a hammer until it is secure.
Image above shows unlocking of right side wheel.
Wheels should be changed at a Morgan dealership where the vehicle can be raised
using specialist equipment.
In an emergency, a jack (not supplied with vehicle) may be used to raise the
vehicle sufficiently. See ‘LIFTING THE VEHICLE.’ If it is essential to change a
wire wheel without the help of a Morgan Dealership, please follow the steps below:
REMOVING A WIRE WHEEL:
1. Loosen the centre lock nut by placing the provided wheel spanner over the
centre lock nut and hit with a hammer in the unlock direction until it loosens.
2. Raise the vehicle using a jack following the steps in ‘LIFTING THE VEHICLE.’
3. Fully loosen the centre lock nut by placing the provided wheel spanner over
the centre lock nut again and hit with a hammer in the unlock direction until
it fully loosens.
4. Unscrew the centre lock nut by hand, allowing you to slide the wheel off.
PLEASE NOTE: RHS centre lock nuts unlock clockwise and LHS centre
lock nuts unlock anti-clockwise.
WARNING Ensure that the wheel is on securely before driving the vehicle.
WARNING An excessive amount of force may cause damage to the wheel;
hit the spanner sufficiently until the nut is secure.
WARNING If using a scissor jack or similar, only raise the vehicle without a
wheel for the minimum amount of time necessary.
