WARNING Apply the parking brake to ensure that the vehicle is secured
against rolling away. Danger of accidents. Before leaving the vehicle, secure
it to prevent it rolling away.
Selector Lever Positions (LHD Selector shown)
D DRIVE
Selector lever position for all normal driving. All gears for forward driving are
selected automatically.
R REVERSE
Engage this position only when the vehicle is stationary.
N NEUTRAL, IDLING
In selector lever position N, neither Park, Reverse, or Drive modes are
selected, allowing the vehicle to roll.
P PARK
Engage this position only when the vehicle is stationary. The drive gears are locked.
Selector lever position P is automatically engaged in the following situations:
• After stopping the engine or ignition off when the selector lever position R or
D is engaged.
Park mode should also be used in combination with the foot brake or handbrake.
Auto Park
Auto Park function prevents the vehicle from moving and activates if a door
is open and seat belt is disengaged or when the ignition is turned off.
