4. AT COMMANDS REFERENCE
4.1 G18 BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY
In the g20 development, special care and thought was given to g18 backward compatibility. In order to enable the simple
replacement of the g18 with the g20 (without the need to change the terminal’s code) as well as to enable the same syntax, AT
family compatibility groups were created.
By specifying each group's behavior (g18 or g20) the user can customize the g20’s look and feel to fit his or her needs. The
group’s behavior is stored in the flex memory, therefore this information is set once and then saved in the g20 after power down.
By default, the g20’s behavior is set. Each customer can specifically request g18 backward compatibility for each of these
groups via the distribution center (flex capable station).
The g18 compatibility groups include:
SMS related commands
Phone Book related commands
Call Control related commands
Network related commands
Security related commands
Error Handling related commands
Other commands
For a list of AT commands the support g18 compatibility refer to Table 113, “g18 Compatibility Commands” on page 227.
4.2 MODEM ID
4.2.1 Subscriber Unit Identity
These commands allow the user to query the type of device that is attached, the technology used in the device, as well as basic
operating information about the device.
4.2.1.1 +CGMI, +GMI, +FMI, Request Manufacturer ID
