PACKAGING
INSTRUCTIONS
Any
time the unit
must
be shipped via commercial car-
riers, it must be packaged
to
prevent damage.
The
recommended package for shipping
is
the original ship-
ping
carton
the unit was delivered in. These boxes when
properly
taped
closed, are designed
to
prevent shipping
damage.
If
the original shipping
cartons
are
not
available.
the
RTL-4115~A
Transit
Case
is
highly
recommended
and
is
also designed
to
safely cushion
the
unit
in
shipping.
Lacking the a

douhle-hox
of
strong.
undamaged
cardboard
with
expanded
plastic filler can he
fabricated
from available shipping cartons.
NOTE: In the
event
that
equipment
is
returned
to
the
Motorola
Test
Equipment
Service
Center
in
a
dam-
aged condition
due
to
improper
packaging.
Motorola
will assume
no
liability for
the
damage.

6.1.4
INSTALLATION
INTO
EXISTING
R-2200
UNITS
IN
THE
FIELD
The RPX-4309A kit is available on a FIELD
RETROFIT
basis for any R-2200 already shipped and installation
is
very
simple. Basically, only a screw driver to remove the top
cover, 2 new
EPROM's
which are included
in
the RPX-
4309A
and a, wire must be soldered on the bottom mother
board is all that
is
required. The wire
is
only necessary to
allow the unit to include non-volatile memory. RTL-4161A
installs
in
option module slot A9 which is color coded red.
Insert main software (PIN 5IR80323B05 & 5IR80323B06)
into the appropriate sockets located
in
CPU Board, RTC-
4023A. Observe polarity and location when exchanging
software.
