How Do I Get Started with the Motorola Xoom?
COnFigUring a SCreen lOCk
Several options are available for protecting your Xoom from unauthorized
access, and they all require you to input something unique such as a paern or
credential for unlocking the screen. Following are several choices:
Off—

Never lock the screen. With this option, you press the Power/
Lock buon and the Xoom’s screen appears.
Unsecure

Doesn’t require a paern, PIN, or password to unlock the
screen. With this option, you must press the Lock icon two times to
access the Xoom. This protects the Xoom from being enabled acci-
dentally but offers no protection from unauthorized access. This is
the default.
Paern

With this option, you can create your own unique paern
to unlock the screen. Aer a paern is established, you unlock the
Xoom by dragging your finger across the screen in that way. You may
opt to draw a leer on the screen, such as a Z, to unlock the screen, for
instance. See Figure 1-17.
PIN
+
Requires a numeric PIN to unlock the screen.
Password
