BaCking Up YOUr XOOm
You can encrypt your accounts, seings, apps and related data, media, and
other files stored on your Xoom. When encrypted, you must enter a numeric
PIN or password to decrypt it each time you power it on. When you opt to
encrypt your data, plug your Xoom into a wall outlet and let it be for a while.
It’ll take an hour or more to complete. If you do opt to encrypt your Xoom
and lose the encryption key, you have to do a factory reset to regain access to
Xoom. This will erase all your data. If you want to encrypt your Xoom, go to
Seings > Location & Security > Encrypt Tablet.
DISABLE VISIBLE PASSWORDS When you type a password, you may
notice that the letters you type for the password show as you type them.
Someone serious about snooping out your passwords may view what
you type and steal those passwords. You can opt not to show passwords
as you type them from the Settings app under Location & Security.
(Someone can still watch you type the password though, so be vigilant.)
