Overview

This document provides a comprehensive guide for the Moulinex blender, detailing its functions, usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The Moulinex blender is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for domestic use, capable of handling a variety of food preparation tasks. Its primary function is blending, but with various accessories, it can also chop, grate, grind, and filter.

The main components include:

  • Motor unit (A): The base of the appliance, housing the motor.
  • ON/OFF button (B): Controls the power and speed settings. It has a "0" position for off, "1" for continuous operation, and an "Auto-Clean" position for cleaning.
  • Pulse key (C): Allows for short bursts of power, useful for controlled blending or chopping.
  • Mixer jug (D): The primary blending container, with capacity markings.
  • Multi-position pouring lid (E+F): A lid designed for the mixer jug, offering different pouring options (wide open, filter position) and securing the contents during operation.
  • Measure stopper (G): A removable stopper in the lid, allowing ingredients to be added during operation.

Accessories (according to model):

  • Mini-chopper bowl (H): Used for chopping small quantities of ingredients like garlic, herbs, dried fruit, rusks, and meat, and for preparing baby purées.
  • Grater jug (I): Designed for grating hard cheeses, coconut, and nutmeg.
  • Grinder bowl (J): For milling dried fruit and spices.
  • Filter (K): Used with the mixer jug to remove pips and skin, producing smoother sauces, soya milk, fruit juices, and cocktails.
  • Lid (L): A safety lid specifically for the grinding accessories (H, I, J) to prevent access to moving blades.

Important Technical Specifications:

While specific power ratings are not provided in the manual, the appliance is designed for domestic use and should be connected to a power supply corresponding to its rating. The mixer jug has a maximum capacity of 1.5 litres for thick mixes and 1.25 litres for very liquid preparations. The grinding accessories (mini-chopper, grater, grinder) have a maximum capacity of 80g.

Usage Features:

General Operation:

  1. Before first use: Clean the mixer jug and accessories in hot, soapy water.
  2. Assembly: Ensure the selector switch (B) is in the "0" position before placing the mixer jug or accessories on the motor unit (A).
  3. Mixer Jug Use:
    • Place the mixer jug (D) on the motor unit (A) in one of the four possible positions.
    • Add ingredients, ensuring not to exceed the maximum level (1.5L for thick mixes, 1.25L for liquid preparations).
    • Place and lock the pouring lid (E+F) onto the jug.
    • Connect the appliance to power.
    • Start blending by turning button (B) to "1" for continuous operation or by pressing the "pulse" key (C) for short bursts.
    • To stop, return selector (B) to "0".
    • The lid offers different pouring positions: wide open for thick preparations and a filter position for frothy preparations with pulp.
  4. Accessory Use (Grinding/Chopping/Grating):
    • Place ingredients into the accessory jug (H, I, or J), ensuring not to exceed 80g.
    • Lock the safety lid (L) onto the accessory jug.
    • Place the assembled accessory onto the motor unit (A).
    • Connect the appliance and turn the speed selector (B) to "1" or use the "pulse" key (C).
    • During operation, press down on the lid to keep the accessory in position.
    • To stop, return selector (B) to "0".
    • Return the complete accessory to the work surface before unlocking the lid (L). The lid can then be used as a recipient for the prepared food.
  5. Filter Use (K):
    • Position the filter (K) inside the mixer jug (D), aligning its slots with the inner ridges of the jug.
    • Place the pouring lid (E+F) on the mixer jug to secure the filter.
    • Add food or liquids into the filter through the opening of the measure-stopper (G).
    • Replace the measure-stopper and turn the selector (B) to "1" or use the "pulse" key (C).
