8. Slide one of the large 56T gears inward, while gently
pulling the axle outward enough to expose the key
that engages the gear. See Figure 3.6.
9. Remove the key.
10. Hold the axle support tube and pull the shaft from the
housing.
11. Repeat steps 8 through 10 for the opposite axle.
NOTE: Examine the removed parts: If failed because of
something other than normal wear, identify and
correct the cause before returning the snow
thrower to service
12. Install the axle assemblies by following the previous
steps in reverse order.
13. Test run the snow thrower in a safe area before
returning it to service.
