Remote Control Learning Method

Overview

This document describes a 4K Full HD Media Player, designed for both home video playback and commercial demonstrations. It supports automatic looping of videos, pictures, and background music.

Function Description

The media player is equipped with various interfaces for connectivity. The front panel includes two USB ports (USB1, USB2), an IR port (requiring a separately purchased IR cable), and a TF card slot. The rear panel features an HDMI output, AV output, optical audio output, an IR port, and a DC5V power input.

The device supports a wide range of media formats:

  • Video Playback: FLV, MPEG, AVI, MKV, 3GP, MP4, WMV, MOV, DAT, MPG, TS, M2TS.
  • Audio Playback: MP3, AAC, WMA, RM, APE.
  • Picture Playback: JPG/JPEG/BMP/GIF/PNG.
  • Subtitle Support: SSA, SRT, SUB, SMI.
  • Note: Due to differences in encoding, compression, and software production, not all files in these formats may be supported.

Usage Features

Quick Installation:

  1. HDMI Connection: Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the player's HDMI output port and the other end to the HDMI input port of your TV.
  2. AV Connection: Connect the player's AV port to the TV's AV port using an AV cable.

Remote Control: The remote control offers comprehensive functionality:

  • Switch Button: Powers the device on/off (standby/on).
  • TV Learning Button: Allows the remote to learn functions from your TV remote (refer to page 16 for instructions).
  • Mouse Button: Activates a mouse cursor on the screen. A single click displays the cursor for 15 seconds; avoid continuous clicking.
  • Home Button: Returns to the home page.
  • Arrow Keys: Navigate up, down, left, and right. Also used for fast forward, rewind, and selecting previous/next videos. When a USB flash drive is connected, these keys can select different storage devices.
  • Menu Key: Accesses sub-functional requirements for the currently selected or opened content.
  • Return Key: Returns to the previous step or exits the current operation.
  • Numeric Keys: Used for numeric input, such as renaming files.
  • Delete Key: Functions as a backspace.
  • Setup Key: Accesses system settings.
  • VOL-, VOL+: Adjusts volume down and up.

Home Page & Navigation: The home page defaults to internal storage. When multiple storage devices are connected, you can switch between them using the up and down keys on the remote. Left and right buttons navigate to different functional sections: Movie, Music, Picture, App, Settings, and File.

File Management:

  • The "File" icon allows you to view and play videos, music, pictures, PPT, PDF, DOC, XLS, and TXT files from external USB flash drives, mobile hard disks, and TF cards.
  • File Options: Select a file and press the menu button to access commands like copy, delete, cut, rename, sort, search, and auto-copy.
  • Note on Deletion: After deleting files, you must return to the main interface and re-enter the "File" section for the changes to be reflected.

Video Playback:

  • Open the "Video" icon to play video files from the selected storage.
  • During video playback, press the menu button to access settings for screen display, sound effects, playback mode, subtitles, and audio tracks.
  • Subtitle Note: If a video lacks subtitles, the subtitle setting option will not be displayed.
  • Navigation: Right-click to fast forward (long press displays playback time). Left-click to go back (long press rewinds and displays playback time).

Picture Playback:

  • Open the "Picture" icon to view image files. Pictures will automatically play as a slide show.
  • Press the menu button to set the duration of each picture, zoom in/out, set play mode, and add background music.
  • After setting, you can choose image switching mode and time switching mode.
  • Picture Resolution: Pictures should ideally be 1920*1080 or 3840*2160 for optimal display. The device supports full-screen and original size display.
  • Background Music: After selecting music, you can view all stored music files and choose the desired background music.

Music Playback:

  • Open the "Music" icon to play music files from the selected storage.
  • During music playback, press the menu button to set the playback mode and background image.
  • Subtitle Note: Music subtitles should be in LRC format and their names should match the music files.
  • Playback Modes: Random Play, Loop Play (for all audio files), Sequential Play, Single Loop, Single Play.
  • Switching Modes: Press the menu button, select "playback mode," then use the up and down buttons to switch.

Settings: Access settings via the "Settings" icon to configure auto-play, sound, display, language, and other options.

  • Playback Settings: Supports automatic playback of videos, pictures, and music from internal or external storage.
  • Note on Playback Sequence: The unit does not support video + picture + music playback in sequence (e.g., auto-play pictures after video, then music). It supports auto-play video, auto-play pictures + background music, or auto-play music.
  • Volume Setting: Adjusts system volume from 0-100.
  • Audio Output Device: Default is HDMI audio. Can connect to AV (red and white output) or SPDIF. SPDIF supports 5.1CH sound; AV supports 2CH sound.
  • Display Settings: Resolution options displayed depend on your TV's capabilities. For 4K resolution (3840*2160P-30), you need a 4K TV, an HDMI 2.0 cable, and the player must support 4K@30Hz.
  • Zoom: Adjusts the full-screen size to match different TV screens for optimal display.
  • Apps: If a video cannot be played, try opening it with VLC or Kodi software.
  • Storage Space and Factory Reset: View current and remaining internal storage. Factory reset clears all data and settings (use with caution).

Maintenance Features

Precautions:

  • Power Supply: Use only the provided 5V/2A power supply with a 2.1*5.5*10 DC plug. Do not use non-local power supplies.
  • Environment: Avoid placing the device in damp or high-temperature environments to prolong its service life.
  • Self-Maintenance: Due to the highly integrated circuit design, non-specialized personnel are strictly prohibited from self-maintenance.
  • Remote Control Battery: Remove the remote control battery if not using the device for an extended period to prevent damage.
  • Accessories: Always use the machine with its original accessories.
  • Installation: For high-altitude installations, ensure proper fixation to prevent falling.
  • 4K Files: Use an HD line (version 2.0) when playing 4K files.
  • Ventilation: Place the unit in a ventilated, dry area, leaving a 5cm gap around it for airflow.

Troubleshooting (FQA):

  • No Power Indicator: Check if the power supply is correctly connected. Reconnect or replace the power supply/panel if needed.
  • No Display on Power On: If the blue indicator is on, check video cable connections and ensure the TV's signal source is set to the correct input.
  • No Automatic Playback: Check if auto-play is set, if files are in the root directory, if external storage is recognized, and if files exist.
  • No Subtitles: Ensure subtitle names match video names. Press the menu button during video playback to set subtitles. If no external subtitle option is displayed, there might not be one available.
  • No Background Music with Pictures: Check for music files in storage. Press the menu button to add background music during picture playback.
  • Picture Not Full Screen: Ensure pictures are 1920*1080 or 3840*2160. Smaller pictures may not display full screen.
  • No Display with AV Connection: If using AV, use the original AV cable and do not connect an HDMI HD cable simultaneously.
  • AV Display without Red/White Sound: Check if the original AV cable is used, if it's properly connected to the player, and if the red and white lotus connectors are correctly plugged into the audio input (R and L) of your amplifier or audio device.
  • Remote Control Not Responding: Check if the indicator light flashes when pressing buttons. If not, replace or recharge batteries. If it flashes, ensure no obstacles block the remote sensor.
  • Video Playback Issues: Check if the video format is supported. If so, try playing it in apps like Kodi.

Remote Control Learning Key Operation: This feature allows the player's remote to learn functions from another remote (e.g., your TV remote).

  1. Enter Learning State: Press and hold the "POWER icon" button on the player's remote (in the learning area) for about 10 seconds. The red indicator light will turn solid, indicating it's in learning mode.

  3. Learn from TV Remote: Point your TV remote at the player's remote (about 3-5mm away) and press the button you want to teach.
  4. Completion: After learning, the red light on the player's remote will flash rapidly three times and then stay on. You can then learn other keys.
  5. Learning Failure: If learning fails, the red light will flash 5 times. Return to step 2 and repeat.
  6. Exit Learning Mode: Long press the "POWER" button on the player's remote, or if no operation occurs for 15 seconds, it will automatically exit learning mode, and the red light will turn off.
