Thismeansthatafteraboutfiveminutesofnonewdisplayactivity, the
ScreenSavefeaturecouldtake overandcausethedisplaytogoblank
orbeginwalkingfromrighttoleft.
Set Low Power State On
Format: 1B 06
Description: ThisstateisusedtoreduceRetailVFDpowerconsumptionandextend
thelifeoftheRetailVFD.PowerisonlyremovedfromtheVFDandthe
displaywillnotberefreshed.TheRetailVFDcontrollerisstillfully
operationalandwillcontinuetoacceptcommands.Thiscommand
causes
thefirmwaretoblankorturnofftheRetailVFD.Displaydata
canbeprocessedwhilethedisplayisintheLowPowerstate,butitwill
notappearuntiltheLowPowerstateischanged.Thedisplayed
character(s)statesispreservedsothatuponleavingtheLowPower
State
thedisplayisrestored.ToleavetheLowPowerState,oneofthe
otherstatecommandsmustbereceived.Thisisthedefaultstateforthe
RetailVFDafterpowerup.
Enable Cursor
Format: 1B 07
Description: Thiscommandcausesaflashingcursortobeusedwheneverthe
DisplayOnstateisinforce.Whenthecursorisenabled,thefirmware
willshowavisibleflashingcursoratthecurrentcursorposition.The
flashingcursorshouldbevisibleforonesecondandthenthecharacter
at
thecursorpositionshouldbevisibleforonesecond.Theeffectisto
alternatebetweenthecharacterandthecursor.Thecursorisdefinedas
character5FHofwhatevercharactersetiscurrentlychosen.Forthe
twosupportedcharactersets,thecursoristhebottomrowofpixels
turnedon.
Forauserdefinedcharacterset,thecursorwillbewhatever
isdefinedascharacter5FHofthecharacterset.Whenthecursoris
enabled,itoverwritesthecharacteratthecursorposition.Ifthecursor
isdisabled,thecharacteratthecursorpositionisleftvisible.
