Caution: Make sure that the end of the ribbon is COMPLETELY CLEAR of the
encoder compartment before you cut it. The scissors must not touch the print
head.
• Using scissors, cut across the ribbon so that you have a new, straight
end to work with.
• Roll the ribbon back up onto the feed roll.
• Feed the ribbon end over the print head and through the mechanism
just as you would the leader of a new ribbon. Once the ribbon end
comes out from under the feed roll on the bottom of the cabinet, go
on to step 6.
Note: The ribbon itself is lighter than the leader, so to help it along,
blow on it gently as you feed it over the print head.
6 Pick up the roll of used ribbon and hold it with the wall of the take-up
spool facing right.
