The merge hopper is an optional module. If your transport has one, it is
located to the right of the main hopper. You cannot have a merge hopper in
combination with a read and key hopper. You use the merge hopper to feed
control documents (such as headers, trailers, and cut slips) into the track
automatically.
This hopper can hold 150 control documents. A “paddle” presses documents
against a feed belt. The feed belt moves documents one at a time into the
track.
