Depending on what kind of work you are doing, you will have either an
optional Item Processing (IP) keyboard or a full-size Controller Keyboard
on your transport
You may have an optional keyboard tray. You can pull it out to set the
keyboard there.
Or you can set the keyboard on the flat work surface on the transport.
Item Processing Keyboard
1
The IP keyboard is specially designed for item processing. It has 40 keys,
including a numeric keypad, a Select (shift) key, and keys for various item-
processing functions.
Taking Care of the IP
Keyboard
1
Usually, when the transport is first installed, your IP keyboard gets plugged
in, and it is rarely unplugged after that.
Transport Controller
Keyboard
1
The alphanumeric keyboard is the full-sized keyboard that came with the
transport controller PC. In some offices, operators may use this keyboard for
certain kinds of item processing. In others, only supervisors and system
analysts use the keyboard, for maintenance and other tasks.
For instructions on using this keyboard, see your supervisor or the manual
for the item-processing program you are using.
