In some cases, you may also have to place control documents such as batch
headers into the merge hopper. Documents that are less than 102mm (4")
long are automatically sorted into the tape outsort
Method 2: Single Item Processing

When applications require single document processing, you can use the
hand-drop slot to load documents.
Make sure the leading (right) edge of the document is close to the right end
of the hand-drop slot.

To put a document in the hand-drop, follow these steps.
1 Find the drop guide line on the hand-drop wall.
2 Hold the document over the hand drop so that its leading edge is to the
right of the guide line.
3 Drop the document into the track. The transport then feeds it down to
the reader module.
Note: Be sure to drop the document straight down, not at an angle.

To ensure that the main hopper feeds documents without stopping, read the
following instructions carefully.
To load a stack of documents into the main hopper, follow these steps.
